Exploring Emotion Through Abstract Art

Rebecca Moy is a Chicago-based artist known for her vibrant abstract paintings that blend fine art with graphic precision.

A graduate of Columbia College Chicago, her work has been featured in solo exhibitions at the Union League Club of Chicago and the Illinois Institute of Art, among others.

Her tireless, layered compositions balance abstraction with architectural elements, creating a unique visual language. Rebecca’s paintings are part of permanent collections at Neiman Marcus and Northwestern Mutual. Her custom pieces are sprinkled in residences and offices around the globe and on several feet walking about.

Layers upon layers of color and line balance opacity and viscosity, abstract ambiguity and mixed architectural references. The resulting ‘graphic’ effect is intentionally bold, exploring the fine line between graphic and fine art.

I paint with Acrylics, Gouache, Archival Inks and sometimes Watercolors. Sometimes, all in one painting. I Love the lack of forgiveness these media yield. I use Canvas, Paper and now Shoes! Also, my cats are an imperative part of my creative process, Tutti is the orange guy and Wally is my wee gray scrappy baby. I love cooking, crochet and cosmetics. And my people, you know who you are.
